How I Firefly Contest

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

 

1.              NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. By entering this Contest, Participants agree to abide by these Official Rules. The decisions of the Sponsor (see rule 2) with respect to all aspects of the Contest are final. The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram or TikTok.  You understand that you are providing your information to the Sponsor and not to Facebook, Instagram or TikTok. The information you provide will only be used to administer the Contest in accordance with the Sponsor’s privacy policy (see rule 11). Facebook, Instagram and TikTok are completely released of all liability by each Participant in this Contest.  Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to the Sponsor and not to Facebook, Instagram or TikTok.

 

2.              SPONSOR: How I Firefly Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Adobe Inc. located at 345 Park Ave, San Jose, CA 95110 USA (“Sponsor”).

 

3.              ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to legal United States residents residing in the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia (excluding residents of Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories and possessions) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry and have an Adobe Firefly account (“Participants”, “You”, “Your”). You may obtain a free Adobe Firefly account, as further described in rule 5. Employees of the Sponsor, or any of the Sponsor’s agents, representatives, advertising, Contest publicity and fulfillment agencies, legal advisors, successors and assigns, and any other company or person that is involved with the production, design, execution, administration or distribution of this Contest and the officers and directors of each of these entities (collectively, the “Released Parties”) and the immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and household members, whether or not related, of each of these people are not eligible to participate. Subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. 

 

4.              CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest begins at 12:00:00 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on November 03, 2025 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on November 19, 2025 (the “Contest Period”). 

 

Each Participant is responsible for making the necessary adjustments for timing of the various phases based on Participant's location and time zone. The Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest.

 

5.              HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST: During the Contest Period (see rule 4), log into your Adobe Firefly account and generate an image or video (the “Submission”) using Firefly.adobe.com, the Firefly mobile app or Firefly within an Adobe app to create their Submission. Your Submission must comply with the submission guidelines in rule 6. Failure to comply with the submission guidelines and these Official Rules may result in disqualification at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Upon completion, save the Submission to your computer or mobile device. Next, upload your Submission as follows:

 

There are two (2) ways to upload your Submission to receive an entry into the Contest. 

i. Upload and share the Submission during the Contest Period as a post to your Instagram or TikTok account, tag @adobefirefly and include the hashtag #HowIFireflyContest (the “Hashtag”) (collectively, an “Entry”) to be entered into the Contest.  ii. During the Contest Period, the Sponsor will post on their Adobe Live Facebook account a post (the “Contest Post”) regarding the “How I Firefly” Contest. To receive an entry into the Contest via Facebook: Follow Adobe Live’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/adobeliveofficial, like the Contest Post, upload your Submission into the comment section of the Adobe Live Facebook Contest Post, tag @adobefirefly and include the hashtag #HowIFireflyContest (the “Hashtag”) (collectively, an “Entry”) to be entered into the Contest. 

 

 

Entries must be posted on or before 11:59:59 PM ET November 19, 2025 (the “Contest Closing Date”). By entering the Contest, you are confirming that you have read these Official Rules, are in compliance with the Official Rules, and, if selected for the Prize, will accept the Prize as awarded, without substitution, and release the Released Parties from any liability in connection with the Prize or the Contest. 

 

The Submission must be generated in an Adobe Desktop, Web or Mobile application using Adobe Firefly or any of the Adobe partner models listed in rule 6. Submissions found to be created and edited outside of the submission guidelines in rules 6 will be disqualified as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion.

 

No Purchase Necessary: If you do not have an Adobe Firefly account, you may create a Firefly Free account or download the Firefly for web app from the app store for free at https://firefly.adobe.com/. Adobe Firefly for web app is a free image generating app for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

 

To participate in this Contest, you must have a valid Facebook, Instagram or TikTok account (each a “Social Account”). If you do not have a Social Account, visit www.instagram.com, or www.tiktok.com and register in accordance with the enrolment instructions for a free Social Account. You may obtain a Facebook, Instagram and/or TikTok account for free at their respective website. By using a Social Account through a wireless mobile device, standard text messaging and/or data rates may apply for each message sent or received from your device. Other charges may also be applied by your wireless carrier (consult your wireless plan for details before participating via wireless mobile device). Proof of participation by wireless mobile device is not a condition of entry. Your Instagram or TikTok account must be set to public at time of Entry and throughout the Contest Period to participate in the Contest. Instagram or TikTok entries with a private account setting may not be captured. You must comply with all terms and conditions associated with the use of Facebook, Instagram or TikTok.

 

There are no limits to the number of Entries a person may submit during the Contest Period, however each Entry must be unique and may only be submitted one time during the Contest Period. Only one (1) Prize will be awarded. In the event a Participant has entered the same Entry more than once or used more than one (1) Social Account during the Contest Period, the Participant will be disqualified, and all of the Entries submitted by the Participant will be disqualified. Proof of transmission (screenshots or captures, etc.) does not constitute proof of delivery. Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed, or any other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified.

 

6.     SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: All Entries must conform to the guidelines below (the “Submission Guidelines”) and be in good taste and in keeping with the Sponsor’s positive image, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. By submitting an Entry in this Contest, each Participant warrants and represents that (i) they have the legal right and necessary permission(s) to do so, and (ii) that their Entry (including all creative and other content comprising their Entry) conforms to the Submission Guidelines. Entries must meet the following Submission Guidelines and demonstrate the Judging Criteria outlined in rule 8.

i.         The Entry must include the following hashtag: #howifireflycontest; ii.          The Entry must include the following tag: @adobefirefly;

iii.             The Submission must be generated using Adobe Firefly or any of the following Adobe partner models: Gemini 2.5 Flash Image (Nano Banana) by Google, Veo by Google, Imagen by Google, GPT image generation model by OpenAI, FLUX1.1 and FLUX.1 Lontext by Black Forest Labs, Pika video generator by Pika Labs, Ideogram by Ideogram, Ray2 by Luma AI, Ray 3 by Luma AI, Runway Gen-4 by Runway, runway Aleph by Runway, Marey by Moonvalley, Topaz Gigapixel by Topaz Labs, Topaz Bloom by Topaz Labs, Topaz Sharpen by Topaz Labs and Topaz Denoise by Topaz Labs.

iv.             Entry must be submitted via social media on one (1) of the Social Accounts and must comply with the respective Social Account’s terms and conditions as posted on the social media platform; 

v.              The Submission must be intended for family audience viewing and contain only content that, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Sponsor, is suitable for all persons, including persons under the age of 13;

vi.             The Submission must not contain any material that is indecent, obscene, tortious, defamatory, harassing, harmful, slanderous, libelous, disparaging, objectionable, or that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, harm, or discrimination against any group, individual, or entity (as determined by Adobe) or other inappropriate content of any kind whatsoever;

vii.            The Submission must not contain any language suggesting or encouraging illegal activity;

viii.          The Submission must not contain any personal information about the Participant or any other persons;  

ix.             The Submission must not have been previously selected as a winner in a prior Contest of any kind, or used for any other commercial, or non-personal public purpose; 

x.              If a Submission contains the likeness of persons other than the Participant, then by submitting the image, the Participant represents they have permission from all recognizable persons (including the parent or legal guardian of any minor child) featured in the image to use such person’s name and/or likeness, and to grant the rights granted to the Sponsor in these Official Rules;

xi.             Participant must have directly used Firefly.com, the Firefly mobile app or Firefly within an Adobe app to create their Submission;

xii.            Entry must not violate any law; 

xiii.          Entry must not communicate messages and/or images inconsistent with the positive images and goodwill to which the Sponsor wishes to associate;

xiv.          Entry must NOT contain any content that is protected by copyright (without the express prior written consent of the owner of such right), including any music or include any recognizable locations or include names and/or descriptions of any copyrighted media production, including, without limitation, films, books, television programming, etc., or identifying descriptions of any media;

xv.           Entry must NOT include any brand name manufacturer’s products other than Adobe

(generic product usage is acceptable);  xvi.        Entry must NOT contain any derogatory references to any of the Released Parties.

 

Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entry that is ineligible, incomplete, non-compliant or otherwise objectionable. Each Participant hereby agrees to indemnify and hold the Released Parties, their successors and assigns harmless from and against any and all third-party claims, actions or proceedings of any kind and from any and all damages, liabilities, costs and expenses relating to or arising out of any breach or alleged breach of any of the warranties, representations, covenants or obligations of Participant hereunder. Participants understand that they are entering at their sole risk. Sponsor is not responsible for any claims arising from a comment on any Social Account, specifically including, but not limited to, claims for intellectual property infringement and privacy rights violations, as well as violations of the respective Social Account platform’s terms and conditions. Without in any way limiting the effect of the rest of these Official Rules, any Participant who incorporates any intellectual property owned by a third party into his or her Entry without permission does so at his or her own risk.

 

In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the individual who actually submitted an Entry cannot be resolved to Sponsor’s satisfaction, the affected Entry will be deemed ineligible. The Released Parties shall not be responsible for incorrect or inaccurate Entry information whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error, which may occur in the processing of the Entries in the Contest. The Released Parties assume no responsibility or liability for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, theft or destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of Entries. Incomplete Entries will be disqualified. Proof of sending an Entry is not considered proof of delivery to or receipt by Sponsor of such Entry.

 

7.     PRIZE: There is one (1) Prize available to be won in the Contest consisting of $5,000.00 (USD) issued in the form of a check. Only one (1) Prize will be awarded. Prize must be accepted as awarded without substitution and cannot be transferred. All applicable federal, state and local taxes on the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Prize winner. Prize winner will receive an IRS 1099 tax form for the value of the Prize following receipt of the Prize.

 

8.     JUDGING PHASE: Between November 21-28, 2025 (the “Judging Phase”), a panel of judges designated by the Sponsor (the “Judges”) will, in their sole discretion, evaluate and score all eligible Entries received during the Contest Period and select the Entry of the Participant with the highest-ranked score (the “potential winner”) based on each Entry’s cumulative score using the below weighted criteria (“Judging Criteria”):

 

Prompt 25% - How clearly and creatively the participant’s idea is expressed through their prompts and input materials (e.g. reference images, style cues).

Concept 25%- Assesses the strength and clarity of the underlying idea or story the creator is communicating through their generated Submission.

Originality 25% -The uniqueness of the idea, subject matter, or aesthetic — how the piece stands apart from common generative styles or trends.

Quality 25%- The visual polish, coherence, and compositional integrity of the output.

 

In the unlikely event of a tie in scoring after conclusion of the Judging Phase, the winner be determined by the judging of the tied entries by an additional judge using the above noted judging criteria. 

 

9.     WINNER SELECTION & NOTIFICATION: Potential winner will be determined on or about December 01, 2025 and notified within approximately three (3) business days of being selected. The Sponsor or its designated representative will attempt to contact the selected potential winner by sending a direct message to the potential winner’s Social Account associated with their Entry submission and/or commenting on their Entry submission. The selected potential winner associated with the selected Participant’s Social Account will then be asked to reply via private message (the “Private Message”) to provide their full name, a valid email address and a daytime telephone number so the independent contest organization can complete the winner notification and verification process with the potential winner. By responding via Private Message to such notification, the potential winner agrees that Sponsor or its designee can contact them via email or otherwise to carry out the administration of this Contest. Upon providing a valid email address, each potential winner will be contacted by email and will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and, except where prohibited, Publicity Release, and IRS W-9 or other documents within seven (7) business days to claim the Prize.  If the potential winner cannot be contacted, is contacted and does not respond in a timely manner with all required information, or fails to claim the Prize as directed within the time allotted following attempted notification, refuses the Prize, is ineligible to accept the Prize, is otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules, or if the attempted Prize notification is returned as undeliverable, then the Prize at issue will be forfeited and, at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, awarded to the Participant with the next highest-scoring Entry based on the Judging Criteria. A Participant is not a winner, even if a Prize notification is received, unless and until the Participant’s eligibility and the potential winning Entry has been verified and the Participant notified that verification is complete. Potential winner must continue to comply with these Official Rules.

 

10.  GENERAL:  

i.         By participating in the Contest, each Participant agrees that the Released Parties (i) shall not be responsible or liable for any losses, damages or injuries of any kind resulting from participation in the Contest or in any Contest related activity, or from Participant’s acceptance, receipt, possession and/or use or misuse of any Prize, and (ii) have not made any warranty, representation or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to any Prize and specifically disclaim all such warranties, including without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. No correspondence will be acknowledged. No substitutions or transfer of prize permitted. The Released Parties will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting from acceptance, possession, use and/or misuse of the Prize or participation in the Contest or any prize-related activities. By participating in this Contest, Participants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer or in administration of the Contest.

ii.        Except where prohibited, participation in the Contest constitutes the winner’s consent to Sponsor and its affiliates, agents and/or affiliated third parties use of each winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, without further payment or consideration, notice, review or approval, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor with respect to this Contest, except to the extent prohibited by law. By way of example, winner may be announced on the Sponsor’s Website and on any other media outlets including the Sponsor’s social media platforms (now known or hereafter created) as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. iii. The Released Parties assume no responsibility for any damage to a Participant’s or any other person’s computer system which is occasioned by participating in the Contest, or for any computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program malfunctions or other errors, failures, delayed computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Sponsor is not responsible for incomplete, illegible, misdirected, late, lost or stolen prize notifications; or for lost, interrupted, inaccessible or unavailable networks, servers, satellites, Internet Service Providers, websites, social media platforms or other connections; or for miscommunications, failed, jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected computer, telephone or cable transmissions; or for any technical malfunctions, failures, or difficulties, printing errors, clerical, typographical or other error in the offering or announcement of the Prize or in any prize notification documents, or other errors of any kind or nature; or for the incorrect or inaccurate capture of information, or the failure to capture any information. Any attempted form of entry into the Contest, other than as stated herein, is prohibited, including tampering, fraud, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, the Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest, and award any remaining Prize(s) from among all eligible non-suspect Participants, provided a sufficient number of eligible entries have been received. Caution: Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws

and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent of the law.

iv.         The Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw, amend or suspend this Contest (or to amend these Official Rules) in any way, in the event of an error, technical problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of this Contest as contemplated by these Official Rules. Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.

v.          In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between these Official Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any materials related to this Contest, including, but not limited to point of sale, print or online advertising, these Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control to the fullest extent permitted by law. 

vi.         All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor and the Participants, will be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the state of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of the State of California or any other jurisdiction) that would cause the application of laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California, and all claims must be resolved in the appropriate State Court located in Santa Clara County, California.
