Does your document composed in South-East Asian Scripts show missing characters when opened in InDesign's Story Editor? If yes, try the resolution mentioned in this article.
If you notice blank boxes in place of missing characters, try changing the Story Editor font to the one used in your document. To do so, perform the following steps:
- Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or InDesign > Preferences (macOS).
- Open the Story Editor Display tab.
- In Text Display Options, change the font to the one used in your document.
- Click OK.
