With Generate Video, you can add AI-generated motion to your edited photos and turn them into polished short videos or reels directly in Lightroom. You can then use them to create engaging social media content and expand your creative reach.

Add motion to your photo with Generate Video.

  1. Open a photo from your album in Detail view.

  2. Right-click the photo, and then select Generate Video. The Generate Video dialog box displays.

You can also access Generate Video from the Photo > Generate Video menu.

  3. In the Generate Video dialog box, select the options from the following dropdown menu before generating a video:

    • Model: Select Firefly Video, Google Veo 3.1, or Google Veo 3.1 Fast partner model.
    • Aspect ratio: Select the width and height ratio for the video.
    • Resolution: Select the definition of video quality.
    • Duration: Select the video duration in seconds.
Generate Video dialog in Lightroom showing model selection, aspect ratio, resolution, duration, prompt options, credit balance, and the Generate button.
Use the options in the Generate Video dialog box to customize the video settings.

  4. In the Prompt field, describe the video you want to generate from the image.

    Tip

If you are unsure how to craft effective prompts, you can use preset prompts like Slow pan, Subtle motion, or Hyperlapse to get started. Subtle motion and Hyperlapse are AI-generated prompts.

  5. To group the original image and the generated video, select Create stack

    Note

Stacks are currently supported only in the Cloud.

  6. Select Generate. You can view the progress in the upper-left corner of the header bar. Once complete, you'll find the generated video in the stack or next to the original image in the Filmstrip.
