Issue : When you launch Acrobat XI, it crashes within 10-15 seconds
Resolution
For Volume License
- Download Adobe Customization Wizard from this location.
- Install the Adobe Customization Wizard.
- Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Customization Wizard location to access the PRTK tool
- Bring up a DOS command shell in Windows (as an Admin) or a Terminal in Mac OS,
- Navigate to the folder where you have downloaded the executable
- Run the command per the syntax described below:
For Acrobat Pro 11 users:
- adobe_prtk --tool=UnSerialize --leid="V6{}AcrobatPro-AS2-Win-GM" --deactivate
- adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=<serialnum> --leid="V6{}AcrobatPro-AS2-Win-GM" --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress
- adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile= --stream
For Acrobat Std 11 users:
- adobe_prtk --tool=UnSerialize --leid="V6{}AcrobatStd-AS2-Win-GM" --deactivate
- adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=<serialnum> --leid="V6{}AcrobatStd-AS2-Win-GM" --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress
- adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile= --stream
For Mac users who are impacted by this issue, use the following LEIDs in the PRTK commands:
- V6{}AcrobatPro-AS2-Mac-GM (For Acrobat Pro)
Note: You need to generate the Prov.xml file only once
For Retail License
Rename the files in following folders:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
- C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore\
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache\
Now launch Acrobat.
Do not rename the folder itself or delete it.
You will be prompted for the serial number. Enter the serial number. Acrobat should launch without any issue.
