Summary
A component of Adobe Presenter 7 is being incorrectly flagged as containing a trojan by McAfee's on-access scan.
Details
As of September 25th 2012, this issue occurs when Adobe Presenter 7 is installed and used within Microsoft Powerpoint on a Windows system with McAfee virus definition file version 6843 or greater.
Adobe has contacted McAfee who have confirmed that this file does not in fact contain a trojan, and that a fix is being prepared by McAfee which will be available in updated virus definitions.
Workaround
If this issue is encountered before the fix is made available by McAfee, the user can, at their own risk, disable on-access scanning by right-clicking on the McAfee icon in the system tray or by executing McAfee 'On-Access Scan' from the start menu. Within 'High-Risk Processes' the tab 'Scan Items' has an option under 'Heuristics' to 'Find unknown unwanted programs and trojans', which can be disabled in order to allow Adobe Presenter to run. Note that this option should be immediately re-enabled after publishing to continue to protect from actual malicious programs or trojans.
