In Adobe Digital Editions (ADE 4.0.2 and below), the maximum device activation is limited to six devices and when you deactive a device, the count will not be increased in the Activation Server. For example, if a reader reads an eBook in all his six devices and would like to activate his new device by deactivating the user account in one of the other devices, the count will not be incremented.
In Adobe Digital Editions 4.0.3, the maximum device activation is limited to six, but on deactivating the account, the activation allowance will be updated accordingly in the Activation Server.
