Duplicate update notifications | Adobe Update Manager, Creative Cloud desktop app

Adobe Update Manager and Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app both show update notification icons in the menu bar. When you select the Adobe Update Manager, it launches the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Solution

Disable the update notification icon for Adobe Update Manager.

1. Launch the Adobe application that shows an available update in Adobe Update Manager.
2. Choose Help > Check for Updates.
3. When the Adobe Update Manager launches, choose Preferences.
4. Disable the update notification icon. Adobe Update Manager is still functional, but it no longer shows an icon.

Additional information

Some Adobe applications don't use the Creative Cloud desktop app to notify and install updates. They continue to use Adobe Update Manager. Creative Suite applications that are now included in the Creative Cloud display update notifications through both Adobe Update Manager and the Creative Cloud desktop app. The notifications through Adobe Update Manager are redundant.
