What's covered
Adobe Contribute and Dreamweaver CS4 and CS5 attempt to support all web and file hosting server types. Occasionally, we are not able to support a specific server type or configuration method.
Webhosting server limitations
Adobe Dreamweaver and Contribute CS4/CS5 are either unable to make a connection or have limited functionality when connecting to the follow server technologies for hosting web sites:
- FirstClass 9
- MS_FTPd
- WS_FTP
- ProFTPD
Filehosting server limitations
The following server types have known issues when creating file store connections with Adobe Dreamweaver and Contribute CS4/CS5.
FTP
- Contribute cannot connect to server using the SSL protocol. Setup the server to connect using the SSH2 protocol.
SFTP
- Contribute cannot connect to server using the SSL protocol. Setup the server to connect using the SSH2 protocol.
- Setup your server to use password based authentication. Adobe Contribute and Dreamweaver do not support certificate based, public key, and Kerberos connections.
