Content-aware Fill

Content-aware fill seamlessly fills a selected portion of an image with similar image content from surrounding parts of the photo. For the best results, create a selection that extends slightly into the area you want to replicate.

  1. Select a portion of an image. Use the Lasso or Marquee selection tools.

  2. Click Edit > Fill Selection.

  3. In the Fill Layer dialog, from the Use drop-down, select Content-Aware.

  4. If you don’t like the results, click Edit > Undo, and apply another Content-aware fill.
