It’s not always possible to get a perfect shot of your subject that also has perfect lighting. In the tutorial video above, Samio Olowu-Dawson (also known as Samio on social platforms) explains how you can manufacture that lighting in Adobe Photoshop after the fact.

First, Samio shows how to use the Adobe Camera Raw filter and her preset to make her self-portrait looks like it was captured during the golden hour. Next, she brings extra dimension to the image by layering it with her PNG file that looks like the shadow cast by a window blind. The end result is realistic and exponentially more interesting.
