Free animated ink stroke social templates for Photoshop.

These easy-to-use designs are all about the reveal.

Three mobile phones display different versions of social posts that feature animated ink strokes. Each features a different photograph, one of a surprised young girl, one of a surfer on a wave, and one of a man painting on an easel.

  1. Add your own image.

Open one of the three files in Photoshop, right-click on the layer Adobe Stock Image - Replace, and choose Replace Contents from the menu. Locate the image you want to use and click Place. The file will update with your image. (You can also double click the Adobe Stock thumbnail, place your image in the new window, save it, and update the animation that way.) Use the Move tool to adjust the size and position of your image.

Tip: Choose an image that you can comfortably scale to the same size as, or larger than, the Background layer, since the animation will reveal small portions of the photo above and below the main ink stroke within the small splatter marks.

A social post shows a surprised girl revealed within an ink stroke with the copy Change Text Here above the image. The Layers panel is shown with the Layer Adobe Stock Image - Replace highlighted and the fly out menu is open with the option Replace Contents outlined in yellow.

  2. Write your message.

Double click the CHANGE TEXT HERE Smart Object thumbnail. A new window will open. Use the Text tool to delete the existing text and write your own message. Adjust the font style, size and color in the Character panel (Window > Character) to further customize the type. Or, if you prefer a simpler image, just delete the text. Once you’re done, save the file (File > Save) and the template will update with the new text.
The text Change Text Here is displayed at the top of a blank artboard. The Layer Change Text Here is displayed as well as the Layers panel with the text layer Change Text Here selected.

  3. Watch it go.

To preview the animation open the Timeline panel (Window > Timeline), where you’ll see the premade tracks. Press the Play button to watch the animation.
The photo of the surprised girl has been replaced by a photo of a happy hiker and their dog and the text has been changed to My Weekend Adventure!. The Timeline panel is displayed in front of the ink stroke social post. The play button is outlined in yellow.

  4. Share it.

Once you’re happy with your creation, go to File > Export > Render Video. Here you can choose a file name, select the folder you want to save your animation to, and adjust the export settings. Final step: Share your animated social post with the world!
The File menu is highlighted with the Export option shown above a flyout menu in which the Render Video option is outlined in yellow. The Render Video menu is open and the file name field is highlighted in blue.
