Free distortion effects for Photoshop.

Free distortion effects for Photoshop.

Download these custom effects from Supply Family — and up your design game with Smart Object layers.

  1. Step 1: Prep your workspace.

Let’s get started with the first effect. Open the file “01_Distortion-Effect.psd” in Photoshop. This will be the main workspace for your design.

  2. Step 2: Get smart.

In the Layers panel, double-click on the thumbnail in the Smart Object layer, which is labeled “Your Design Here.” That opens a new file called “Your Design Here.psb.” (New to working with Smart Objects in Photoshop? Head to this HelpX article for a quick overview.)

  3. Step 3: Import your design.

In “Your Design Here.psb,” add new text, or import an image of your choosing into the artboard. Then go to File > Save.

  4. Step 4: Complete the effect.

Go back to the first file you opened, “01_Distortion-Effect.psd,” to see your design with the distortion effect now in place.
