Issue with Adobe Premiere Elements during launch

Last updated on Apr 27, 2021

Problem

Adobe Premiere Elements gets stuck at loading PlayerMediaCore.prm during launch.

Solution

Navigate to
C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Elements
or press Windows+R.

The Run dialog box appears.

In the Run dialog box, type %appdata% and click OK.

The Roaming folder opens.

Navigate to the following location:

Adobe\Premiere Elements\<product_version>

Note

<product_version> is the appropriate Premiere Elements version folder, for example, 16.0 for Premiere Elements 2018, 17.0 for Premiere Elements 2019.

Open the Debug Database.txt file.

Locate the following flag entry:

DS.ForceCPUOnly false false

Modify the flag entry to true as shown below:

DS.ForceCPUOnly true false

Save the changes by choosing File > Save in Notepad.

Note

If Adobe Premiere Elements did not launch properly in the past and this is a first-time installation, you may be unable to locate the flag entry mentioned in Step 5. In that case, replace the code you have on your Debug Database.txt file by copy-pasting the code from the Debug Database.txt file. Then, continue from Step 5.
