Prerelease documentation: New Recipient Experience - Mobile

Alert:

This article contains prerelease information. Release dates, features, and other information are subject to change without notice.

Overview

For the Acrobat Sign Solutions tiers of service, a new signing experience that better highlights the recipient fields and the signature process, improving the overall signer experience and completion rates, is available for both the desktop and mobile interfaces (both are enabled through the same admin control).

The Acrobat tiers of service will have the new experience enabled automatically for their account in the coming months.

Note:

This updated version of the e-signing experience supports the most common features that senders rely on. However, not all features are supported at this time. Updates delivered in future releases will support additional features.

The experience is being rolled out to all customers in the first few months of 2025.
The web experience will be enabled first, and the mobile web experience will be enabled roughly one month after that.
The Sandbox environment will provide access to the feature in the first week of December 2024.

Availability

This new experience will be enabled in stages through early 2025. As customers are included in the rollout:

  • Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Pro customers will have the feature enabled automatically.
    • There are no controls at these tiers of service to control the environment.
    • This rollout will begin in September 2024.
    • The desktop experience will roll out first, and the mobile experience shortly afterwards.
  • Acrobat Sign Solutions tiers of service have controls exposed to allow admins to enable or disable the new experience.
    • This rollout will be based on the buying program of the Acrobat Sign application.
    • This rollout will begin in November 2024 and run through March 2025.
    • Customers with a sandbox account will be able to access the experiences the first week of December 2024.

Configuration - Enterprise

The new e-signing experience can be enabled at the Account or Group level.

To review and edit the feature controls:

  1. Log in as an administrator and select the Account option in the top navigation bar (Group if you are a group-level admin)

Note:

The Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Pro e-signature subscription plans do not support the configuration of this feature.
It will be automatically enabled when the account is enabled through the rollout process.

The configurable options are:

Desktop web:

When the option is enabled, recipients signing through the desktop interface will use the new experience when signing their agreements.

The Options menu has been modernized with clearer icons and actions, including a search feature that searches the full document for specified text and provides an interface to cycle through found instances.

The signature panel has been updated to a more modern feel with clearer labels and buttons:

After the signature fields are completed, a far more conspicuous Submit button is displayed to alert the recipient that they have one more action to complete their signature.

If the setting is disabled, recipients will use the classic signing experience.

Best practices

The new e-signing experience will ultimately become the default experience. Customers are encouraged to enable the new experience as soon as possible to expose their users and recipients to the new interface while the option to roll back to classic is still available.

Missing elements in the new e-signing experience

The new e-signing experience supports most of the features used when sending agreements, but not all of them. The experience is still in development, and updates can be expected in future releases.

If the new experience is enabled and an unsupported element is involved, Acrobat Sign will fall back to the classic e-sign experience, allowing the recipient to complete their portion of the agreement with no issues.

We encourage administrators to use the new experience when they become comfortable with how the experience functions.

For your awareness, the differences between the classic e-sign experience and the new are:

Removed elements in the new e-signing experience

As the new e-signing experience evolves, some elements will be eliminated due to improvements in processes or technology. Below are the removed elements identified:

Read Agreement - The Read Agreement option existed to present a PDF that was accessible for screen readers. In the new experience, the screen-readable PDF is presented immediately, so the Option is no longer warranted.
