The Comments panel | Substance 3D Reviewer

The Comments panel allows you to leave comments for other reviewers, reply to other comments, or attach pins to the asset to call out specific details or areas. The Comments panel works similarly across VR and desktop.

Leave a comment

To leave a comment:

1. Select the textbox.
   1. In VR, a keyboard will appear that you can use to enter a comment.
2. Type the comment.
   1. If you want to pin the comment to the asset, select the Pin, then:
      1. On desktop, click the point on the asset where you would like to pin the comment.
      2. In VR, point your primary controller at the desired location on the asset and pull PT.
3. Use the submit button.

Pinned comments

You can use the Pin while creating a comment to attach it to your asset. Hovering over a comment will highlight the pin for that comment in the scene, and hovering over a pin in your scene will highlight the comment in the Comments panel.

You can turn off visibility of pins from the visibility menu:

• In VR, access the visibility menu from the Quick access panel.
• On desktop, access the visibility menu from the Top bar.

Interact with others

Each comment left on a review has a few options:

• You can reply to comments with the Reply button under each comment. 
• If a comment is pinned, an icon appears. Hovering over the comment will highlight the pin in the scene.
• You can mark comments as resolved if no further action is necessary.
• If you left the comment, you can use the options dropdown to edit or delete the comment.
