Prepare model for review
Substance 3D Reviewer gives you the ability to review models that you have uploaded, or that have been shared with you. On the Reviewer home page, you’ll be able to see all of the reviews available to you:
- By default, Reviewer shows reviews of models that you have uploaded.
- Alternatively, change to the Shared with you tab to see reviews that other users have given you access to.
Select the review that you would like to join, and you will be presented with a dialog where you can:
- Select a microphone.
- Toggle whether you will join the review with your microphone muted or unmuted.
- Return to the home screen.
- Join the review in Solo mode.
- Join the review.
If the microphone list is empty, you may need to tell your browser to provide Reviewer with access to your microphone.
Solo mode allows you to review the model without participating in a shared 3D space with other users. You will still be able to see comments and pins as other users Review the model, but you won’t be able to speak with or see other users currently reviewing the model, and they won’t be able to see or hear you.
Launch reviews in VR from desktop
It's possible to open Reviewer in VR from desktop. To open Reviewer, use the Open in VR button in the Top Bar or, from the options for a specific review, use Open in VR to launch that review directly in VR. This makes it easy to quickly transition from desktop to VR reviews.
Before you can launch in VR, you may need to link your Meta and Reviewer accounts so that Reviewer knows how to launch on your headset.
To get started, click Open in VR. If your accounts have not been linked, you will have the option to link your Meta Horizon and Adobe accounts.
If your accounts have been linked, Reviewer will prompt you to make sure that you are logged into your headset with the correct Meta Horizon account. Open the provided link to select a headset from which to launch the Reviewer application.
At this point, Reviewer will launch in your headset and open a review if one was selected.
This process does not work for Meta Managed Accounts. To use Reviewer with a Meta Managed Account, launch Reviewer in VR and sign in with your username and password. Once signed in, you will be able to access any reviews available to you on the desktop app.
