In the Library module, right-click the Publish Service plug-in.
Issue
Errors occur when you use Publish Services in Lightroom Classic.
- For example, "An internal error has occurred: There is something wrong in CryptUnprotectData."
Solutions
Solution 1: Unauthorize then reauthorize the Publish Service plug-in.
-
-
Choose Edit Settings.
-
Click Remove Authorization.
-
Click Authorize and follow the steps to connect the plug-in to your Publishing Services account.
-
Try publishing your images using the plug-in again.
Note: For some services it can take a minute to gather data such as image or album names.
Solution 2: Reset the cache in your browser, then reauthorize the Publish Service plug-in.
You can Google search or check your browser's Help documentation for instructions on how to clear the cache and cookies for your browser.
Most browsers have a clear browsing history option in the application menu or File menu. Otherwise, it's typically found in the browser's preferences.
Solution 3: Set a different browser as default, then reauthorize the Publish Service plug-in.
Several users have reported that this step worked for them.
See your browser's documentation on how to change the default browser. Most browsers have an option to check for default browser at startup in the preferences.
Note: This step is necessary only during the plug-in authorization. Once the plug-in is authorized and functioning, you can revert to your preferred default browser.
Solution 4: (Windows) Run Lightroom as an Administrator, then reauthorize the Publish Service plug-in.
-
Quit Lightroom.
-
Right-click the Lightroom application (executable) file or the shortcut.
-
Choose Run as administrator.
-
Reauthorize the Publish Service plug-in.
-
Try publishing your images using the plug-in again.
