Feature summary | Adobe InDesign (October 2022 release)

Learn about new features and enhancements in the October 2022 release of InDesign (version 18.0).

  Auto Style (Technology Preview)

Whether you're a novice user or an expert, Auto Style reduces your text formatting effort. Select from our built-in content-aware Style Packs and update your text with a single click across large documents. Style Packs automatically format the text based on content type.

Adobe continues to invest in new capabilities that enhance the InDesign experience. We would like you to participate, try the Auto Style feature, and provide feedback. Please note that the feature is in Technology Preview. Hence, some capabilities will evolve, including performance.

For more information on Auto Style and Style Packs, see Work with Style Packs.

Efficient copy paste between Illustrator and InDesign

You can now efficiently copy-paste text between Illustrator and InDesign while preserving formatting and applied effects.

New Graphic formats supported in InDesign

You can now import HEIC, HEIF, WEBP, and JP2K files in their native formats without loss of fidelity.

UXP Scripting

InDesign scripting now includes modern JavaScript capabilities. Developers can now use UXP Scripting alongside VBScript, AppleScript, and JavaScript.
