The AI-powered Assisted Culling feature in Lightroom Classic lets you efficiently organize photo collections and folders by identifying the best images, rejecting low-quality photos, and making editing adjustments. You can cull your pictures at the time of import and use the feature for albums already available in Lightroom Classic.

This feature is currently available as Early AccessAssisted Culling in the Import dialog isn't available for the Devices section.

  1. In the Library module, select Import.

  2. Select a folder from the Source menu, and then select Assisted Culling. Lightroom will run an analysis in the background for the selected folder.

  3. Once the analysis is completed, in the Assisted Culling panel, choose from the following Select options:

    • Subject Focus: This option chooses images with the subject in focus. You can drag the slider left and right to set the selection criteria.
    • Eye Focus: This option chooses images with the eyes in focus. You can drag the slider left and right to set the selection criteria.
      • Reject photos without people's eyes: Select the checkbox to reject the images that don't have human eyes.
    • Eyes Open: This option chooses images with open eyes.
      • Reject photos without people's eyes: Select the checkbox to reject the images that don't have human eyes.
      • Reject 'Can't Tell' images: Select the checkbox to reject images in which it's impossible to distinguish whether the eyes are open or not.

  5. In the View section, choose the following buttons to view photos accordingly.

    • Selects: Displays all the images based on the selected filters.
    • Rejects: Displays all the images based on the rejected filters.
