IMPROVEMENTS TO Audio Device Selection
- The latest speaker/microphone manually selected by a user will be remembered. If this device is available during future sessions, Connect will use it at the session start or switch to it if plugged in mid-session.
- If the preferred device is not available, Connect will automatically select the next best option, prioritizing OS default devices first, followed by external devices like AirPods or Bluetooth headsets.
- Connect will NEVER automatically select virtual devices, such as Zoom or Teams virtual audio devices, or audio devices on external monitors or webcams. To use these devices, users must manually select them from the speaker/mic dropdown menus. The device selection will be remembered, and Connect will automatically select them during future sessions. (refer point 1 above).
- This improvement is applicable to the desktop clients only - browser and application.
- The list of remembered devices is stored in the local browser or application cache. As a result, the remembered devices may differ between the browser and the application. These remembered devices will be cleared when the browser cache is cleared or the application is updated.
