Pod management

Learn how to organize and manage pods during an Adobe Connect session.

Managing pods in Adobe Connect involves organizing and customizing the various components of a layout within your room. Understand the basic features of pods from the following:

Add a pod

Select the pods menu    from the top menu bar. From the submenu, select an existing pod or create a new pod.

Move a pod

To move a pod around the screen, click and hold the title bar (the top part of the pod) and drag it to the intended location.

Hide a pod

From the pod options  , select Hide pod to hide the selected pod from the layout.

Note:

This action will not remove the pod but only hide it from the layout.

Resize a pod

Click and drag the edge or corner to resize the pod. Drag outward to make the pod larger or inward to make it smaller.

Display a pod at maximum size

When you maximize a pod, it expands to fill the current layout.

  • Go full screen: Select Go full screen    from the upper-right corner of the pod to maximize it.
  • Maximize for all: From the pod options  , select Maximize for all to maximize the pod for all attendees.
  • Restore: To restore the pod to its original size, select the pod options , and select Restore.
Note:

To expand the Share pod beyond the current browser window to the edge of the display, select the Full screen button.

Rename a pod

To rename a pod, double-click the name in the title bar, and select Edit.

Click anywhere on the screen to save the name. 

Switch pods

You can switch pods in the meeting room without hiding a pod and adding a new one from the pods menu. Only hosts can switch pods during a session. 

Note:

You can only switch between pods of the same type. For example, if you have four different chat pods, you can switch between them. 

Use the following steps to switch pods:

  1. From any pod, select   to view the names of all pods of the same type. For example, by selecting the icon in the chat pod, you can see a list of all active chat pods.

  2. From the drop-down, select the pod you want to switch.

    By selecting New chat pod, you can add a new chat pod too. For more details, view Chat pod.

Manage pods

Using the manage pods option, hosts can rename and delete pods, making it easier to organize all available pods in the layout.

  1. From the pods menu   , select Manage pods.
    This opens the Manage pod dialog box.

  2. Sort pods based on Type and Name.

    Hover over pod name, select   icon to edit the pod name, or select   icon to delete the pod.

  3. To delete all unused pods, select the option Select unused in the top-right of the dialog box.

    It selects any pod that does not appear on any layout.

    Select   icon next to Select unused to delete the selected pods.
    In the confirmation box, select Delete.

  4. Select Done.

Clear content from pods

Hosts can clear the content from all the pods. This action clears content history from all open Chat pods, Poll pods, Q&A pods, and Chat panel.

  1. From the pods menu   , select Clear content from pods.
    This opens Clear content from pods dialog box.

  2. Select the type of pod or panel that requires content removal.

    For example, if you select the chat hostory, it clears the chat history from all the chat pods visible in every layout. If you select the poll results, it ends all open poll and clears the results.

  3. Select Clear content to clear the content.

    Note:

    This action will neither remove pods from layouts nor affect pods not used in layouts nor any other pods like the share pod, notes pod, and many more.
