Place and edit images generated on the Adobe Firefly website

Learn how to place and edit the raster images you generated on the Adobe Firefly website directly in Adobe Illustrator without downloading and uploading them.

Place an image in a new document

In the left pane of the homescreen, select Generation history   .

Access and edit the images you generated on the Adobe Firefly website without leaving Illustrator.

Select Favorites to view the Firefly images you marked as favorites, if needed. Then, select the image that you want to edit further.

Note

Generation history shows only the raster images generated on the Firefly website, and you can place them only as embedded files.

Place an image in an open document

In the document, select File > Place. If you see the document picker for your computer, select Place from Adobe cloud to switch to the cloud document picker.

In the cloud document picker, select Generation history.

Select Favorites to view the Firefly images you marked as favorites, or   to sort them by Date created, if needed.

Select the image that you want to edit, and then select Place.

Edit the image

Use the raster or vector editing tools as needed.

To use vector editing tools, vectorize the image using Image Trace (Window > Image Trace), and if you want to rasterize it back after edits, use Object > Rasterize.
