Subject Guidance

The goal of this Mission is to capture a wide range of a person's body movements, natural expressions and interaction with objects. Emphasize dynamic movement over static shots where subjects are still like photographs.

An ideal submission should include around 100-150 video clips of the same person balanced between these four actions (all can be shot in the same setting/location):

1. Body Movement

Capture dynamic movements of your subject utilizing medium, and full body shots, as well as various angles (front, back, side, top-down, bottom-up) to provide a comprehensive view of their actions.

Suggested actions to capture body movement:

  • Running

  • Walking

  • Jumping

  • Exercising

  • Dancing

  • Gesturing (avoid anything offensive)

2. Emotions & Expressions

Portray your subject's emotional depth and range through expressive movement of facial expressions, emphasizing a range of medium and close-up shots. Avoid exaggerated and unnatural poses and expressions.

Suggested emotions to portray:

  • Joy

  • Sadness

  • Surprise

  • Anger

  • Fear

  • Disgust

  • Excitement

  • Confusion

  • Contentment

3. Anatomy & Body Parts

Showcase the physicality and features of your subject’s body, emphasizing close-up videos and medium shots of specific body parts in motion (flexing, stretching, interacting with other body parts):

  • Hands

  • Neck

  • Arms

  • Feet

  • Head

  • Eyes

  • Mouth

  • Ears

  • Shoulders

  • Back

*Avoid tattoos if possible due to IP issues.

4. Interacting with Objects

Capture medium to full body videos of your subject interacting with everyday objects in natural and authentic ways, emphasizing movement.

Examples of different object types:

  • Tech (smartphone, laptop, wearable device, etc.) *

  • Cooking utensils

  • Musical instruments* (classical instruments preferred to reduce IP risk)

  • Household (keys, remotes, light switches, etc.)

  • Fitness equipment

  • Gardening tools

  • Office items (pens, notebooks, paintbrushes, etc.)

*Note: Ensure that objects used DO NOT contain any trademark designs, brand names, or logos. You may use tape to cover any logos or trademarks to ensure compliance. Submitted video clips with intellectual property (IP) issues will result in the ENTIRE Mission submission being rejected during the moderation process and contributions won’t be compensated for such submissions.

Clothing & Styling:

You can photograph your subject wearing the same or different clothing within your Mission submission. Incorporating simple wardrobe changes, such as putting on a jacket or changing a top can significantly enhance your Mission’s value with minimal effort. Make sure the clothing does not contain any trademark designs, brand associated patterns, pictures, or logos.

Lighting

  • Use natural or artificial lighting as available.

Location

  • Videos can be filmed indoors or outdoors. We encourage you to include a variety of locations and backgrounds to enhance the overall value of your Mission submission.

Similar Content

Avoid submitting exact duplicates. It’s okay for a series of videos in each Mission to be somewhat similar but submitted videos cannot be identical or nearly identical. We expect each video in a series to be unique to ensure we get as much variety as possible for AI/ML training purposes. Each video should provide different information. Missions that have videos that are too similar and repetitive will be rejected during the moderation process and contributors won’t be compensated for such submissions.

Please see this link for in-depth information about submitting similar content.

Important Information

  • Payment processing for accepted submissions can take up to 15 business days.

  • Submission deadline is at least until May 8, 2024, and may be extended.

  • Generative AI content is not accepted.

  • Model releases are required for videos in this Mission.
