As of October 16, 2025, Substance 3D Viewer will no longer be supported or available for installation.
The Viewer to Photoshop (beta) plugin connects Substance 3D Viewer with Photoshop so that you can seamlessly work with 2D and 3D across both applications.
The Viewer to Photoshop plugin currently only supports the Photoshop (beta) app. You can download the Photoshop (beta) app from Creative Cloud > Apps > Beta apps.
To install the Viewer to Photoshop plugin, make sure you have Substance 3D Viewer installed, then drag and drop a 3D file onto your Photoshop canvas and follow the prompts.
Once the plugin is installed, you will be able to use the Send to... button in Substance 3D Viewer to add your 3D render as a Smart Object in a new Photoshop file.
In Photoshop, open the Substance 3D panel to directly access Substance 3D Viewer functionality. While you have a 3D Smart Object selected, you can also use the Edit in Substance 3D Viewer button to open the object in Viewer and make changes to the render.
