Filter a collection using attributes

Filter a collection to narrow the document list based on attribute values.

Filtering helps you focus on documents that meet specific criteria, such as date ranges, numeric thresholds, or text matches. You can apply multiple filters to refine results further.

Before you begin

  • The collection must contain extracted attributes.
  • At least one attribute must be enabled and visible to you.
  • Filtering applies only to the current collection view.

Filter the right documents from your collection

  1. Open the collection.

  2. (Optional) Display the attribute column before applying a filter to observe how results change.

Filters can be applied without having the attribute displayed.

  3. Select the Filter data button to open the filter builder in the right hand context panel.

  4. Select + Add filter to open the first filter definition.

The filter definition contains two elements:

    • Filter by – A dropdown list containing all enabled attributes available to you.
    • Condition – A dropdown list of operators that apply to the selected attribute.
  5. Select an attribute from the Filter by dropdown.

  6. Select a condition from the Condition dropdown.

Available conditions vary depending on the attribute type.
    For example:

    • Date attributes may offer options such as Before or After.
    • Numeric attributes may offer options such as Greater than or Less than.
    • Text attributes may offer options such as Contains or Equals.
  7. Some conditions require additional input. When required, input fields appear automatically.

  8. Select Apply to activate the filter.

The collection view refreshes to display only the documents that match the defined criteria.

Layer additional filters

You can apply multiple filters to narrow results further.

Repeat the filter steps to define additional boundaries.

Each applied filter appears as a tile above the document list.

Remove a filter

To remove a filter:

  • Select the X on the filter tile to remove it.

The collection refreshes automatically.

How filtering works

Filters are applied only to the current collection view.
They do not modify documents or attributes.
You can adjust or remove filters at any time.
