Configure general settings for Analyzer in Sign

Last updated on Aug 14, 2026

Control the default permissions for sharing collections, creating attributes, and adding documents in Analyzer.

The General settings page defines organization-wide defaults for user permissions. Individual users can have explicit permission overrides unless an administrator applies a setting to all users.

Configure general settings

Go to Settings > General settings.

The page includes three controls:

  • Share collections
  • Create Attributes
  • Ingest documents
General settings page with controls for sharing collections, creating attributes, and ingesting documents.
Organization defaults establish the baseline permissions for users, while explicit user-level settings can provide exceptions.

Control collection sharing

Use Share collections to control whether users can share collections with other users.

When enabled, users governed by the organization default can share collections.

When disabled, sharing is blocked for those users.

Users with an explicit user-level Allow or Deny setting retain that setting unless you apply the organization setting to all users.

Caution

Disabling collection sharing automatically unshares collections that were previously shared.

Control attribute creation

Use Create Attributes to control whether users can create custom attributes.

When enabled, users governed by the organization default can create attributes.

When disabled, those users cannot create new custom attributes.

Explicit user-level permissions remain in effect unless you apply the organization setting to all users.

Control document ingestion

Use Ingest documents to control whether users can add new files to Analyzer.

When enabled, users governed by the organization default can:

  • Upload new files.
  • Add files through linked network sources.

When disabled, those users cannot add new files.

Explicit user-level permissions remain in effect unless you apply the organization setting to all users.

Apply a setting to all users

Select Apply to all users when you want an organization setting to override existing user-level exceptions.

Without this option:

  • New users inherit the organization setting.
  • Existing users who inherit the organization setting receive the updated value.
  • Users with explicit user-level permissions retain their individual setting.

With Apply to all users, Analyzer replaces the individual exceptions and enforces the selected setting across the organization.
