Custom Time Stamp Providers - New

Use an approved Time Stamping Authority to apply time stamps to digital signatures instead of the default Acrobat Sign service.

Adobe Acrobat Sign automatically applies trusted time stamps to digital signatures. Organizations that use their own licensed Time Stamping Authority (TSA) can configure Acrobat Sign to use that service instead of the default Adobe-authorized time stamp provider.

Once configured, the selected TSA is used automatically for applicable digital signature workflows. Senders and recipients don't need to select the provider when an agreement is sent or signed.

Before you begin

Adobe must enable the time stamp provider for your Acrobat Sign account before you can configure it.

If you want to use one of the pre-approved providers listed on this page, contact Acrobat Sign Support and identify the provider you want to use.

For a provider that isn't on the pre-approved list, provide Support with:

• the provider name;
• the service endpoint URL.

Adobe must review and verify an unlisted provider for compatibility before it can be enabled. This review can take several days.

After Adobe configures the provider endpoint, Time Stamp Settings becomes available in the administrator's account settings.

Configuration scope

Custom time stamp providers can be configured at the account and group level.

• Group-level settings override the account-level configuration.
• Groups without their own configuration inherit the account-level setting. .

Enabled after Adobe AI terms are accepted.

What happens after configuration

Digital signatures automatically use the configured time stamp provider. No additional action is required from senders or recipients.

Time stamps support long-term validation by providing trusted evidence of when a digital signature was applied. The time stamp is issued by the configured TSA independently of the signer's own signing certificate.

If verification fails

If Verify Time Stamp Configuration does not return a successful result:

• confirm that the username and password are correct;
• confirm that the credentials are active with the TSA;
• verify that you're using the provider endpoint enabled for your Acrobat Sign account;
• try the verification again.

If the configuration continues to fail, contact Acrobat Sign Support.

If a time stamp is applied incorrectly to an agreement, review the provider configuration and contact Support if the problem continues.

Temporarily use the default Acrobat Sign provider

To stop using the custom TSA without removing its credentials, disable Enable the following time stamp service.

Acrobat Sign returns to its default time stamp provider.

The custom provider credentials are retained, so you can re-enable the service without entering them again.

Update provider credentials

Update the configuration when the credentials supplied by your TSA change.
