Thumbnail display issue on macOS 26 when importing media from iPhone
Thumbnails may appear identical or blank when importing photos or videos from an iPhone on macOS 26 in Premiere Elements. Learn more about the issue and available workarounds.
When importing photos or videos from an iPhone into Adobe Premiere Elements on macOS 26, the thumbnails in the Photos from Cameras and Devices or Videos from Cameras and Devices import dialog may appear identical or show as blank. This prevents users from identifying the correct media before import.
Issues
When an iPhone is connected to a macOS 26 machine, Adobe Premiere Elements may display the same thumbnail for all photos or videos in the Photos from Cameras and Devices or Videos from Cameras and Devices panels.

Steps

Launch Adobe Premiere Elements.

Go to Add Media > Photos from Cameras and Devices or Videos from Cameras and Devices.

Select the connected iPhone from the device dropdown in the import window.

Notice that all thumbnails appear identical or blank.
Expected result
Each media file should display its unique thumbnail preview to help identify the correct photo or video.
Actual result
All media files appear with identical or blank thumbnails, making it difficult to distinguish files before import.
Workaround
Try the following temporary workarounds while the issue is being investigated:
- Import the media via removable storage such as a USB drive or pen drive.
- Use alternative Add Media import options. This issue is limited to:

- Videos from Cameras and Devices
