Configure Agreement AI generative summaries - New

Last updated on Aug 28, 2026

Allow senders to include AI-generated summaries for recipients.

Agreement AI generative summaries create a summary of an agreement during authoring. Senders can review, edit, and save the generated summary before sending the agreement.

Use this setting to control whether senders can include the AI-generated summary for recipients to review during signing.

Controls

Allow senders to share an AI-generated summary with the recipients

When enabled, senders can include the AI-generated agreement summary for recipients to review during signing.

When disabled, senders can review and use the summary during authoring, but they cannot include it for recipients.

How the setting works

When Agreement AI generative summaries are available, Acrobat Sign evaluates the agreement before it is sent and generates a summary during authoring. The sender can review the generated summary, edit it if needed, and save the final version before sending the agreement.

The summary includes an AI-generated content notice. The summary is for informational purposes only, and the full agreement remains the authoritative source.

If recipient access is enabled, the sender can include the summary with the agreement. Recipients can expand or collapse the summary in the signing experience before completing the agreement.

Senders can review the summary later from the Manage page in the View Agreement page.

For sender steps, see the related article for using Agreement AI generative summaries when sending an agreement.

Best practices

Enable recipient access when senders need to help recipients review long or complex agreements before signing.

Tell senders to review and edit AI-generated summaries before sending the agreement.

Do not use summaries as a replacement for reviewing the full agreement.

Disable recipient access when your organization does not want recipients to see AI-generated summaries.

Things to know

  • The full agreement takes precedence over the summary.
  • Senders can edit and save the generated summary before sending the agreement.

  • Recipients can expand or collapse the summary in the signing experience.
  • Recipients can view the summary only if the sender includes it with the agreement.
  • Recipient access is not available when limited document visibility is enabled.
  • After an agreement is sent, Acrobat Sign cannot generate an AI summary for that agreement.
