Open a presentation in the Adobe Express editor.
Learn how to control the sequence of how animated objects and media appear in Adobe Express presentations, with Click order.
Use Click order
Select an object on the page, such as text, image, or shape, then select Edit .
Select Animation from the left panel.
Select Click to add animation, then use the setting and properties icon on the animation cards to edit the animation style and adjust the duration.
Select Add another animation to add more animations to the object.
Drag the elements in the order you want them to animate after you click.
- You can drag elements to group them so they play on a single click, or separate them so they play across multiple clicks.
- By default, audio plays at page start and appears in the Play automatically bucket. You can drag it to place it on other lists.
Select Preview to review the playback order.
A: Animation panel displaying the Click order sequence B: Settings icon to edit the animation effects C: Properties icon to add delay duration and other settings D: Select an object on the slide to add animations E: Click to add animations F: Preview button to see the playback order.
Click order behavior in presentations
Existing presentations will change to click order:
- Video and GIFs: All videos and GIFs in a scene default to Autoplay.
- Animations: In and Loop animations are grouped under Autoplay. Out animations move to the first click group after Autoplay.
- Audio: Audio clips across tracks are assigned to sequential clicks, starting with Autoplay.
When a non-presentation document is converted into a presentation:
- All objects with In and Loop animations play automatically.
- Objects with Out animations play on click, following the defined click order.
- Scenes are converted into individual slides while preserving their original sequence to maintain overall flow.
Export:
- Exported MP4 files follow the defined click order.
- Total video duration is calculated as the sum of all click groups.
- For each click group, the longest dration among the objects is considered.
View-only link on iOS web
View‑only link created before implementng Click order will continue to play animations based on the original scene‑line animation. Updated view‑only links behave like exported renditions, where objects appear sequentially according to the defined click order. A Play button lets you start the experience, and you can play or pause at any time for a viewing experience similar to watching a video.
View-only link on desktop
View-only link provides an interactive, presentation‑style experience where objects appear based on the defined Click order. You can click to reveal each object sequentially, following the specified order. View‑only links created before the introduction of click order continue to honor click order with the following behavior:
- All objects will auto-play.
- Objects with In and Loop animations will auto-play.
- Objects with Out animations will play on click
- Groups and grids limitations: Animations can be applied either to a group/grid or to individual items within it, but not both. If animations are applied to individual (child) objects, you cannot apply animations to the parent group or grid. If an animation is applied to the parent group or grid, you cannot apply animations to its child objects. In these cases the Add animation button is disabled.
- Multi‑select objects limitations: Animations cannot be replaced using multi‑select (on objects or animation cards). To change an animation, select and update each animation individually.
