Last updated on Aug 5, 2026

Download your Adobe Express design as a layered Photoshop (PSD) file to continue editing and refining it in Adobe Photoshop.

Download PSD from Adobe Express

Open the Adobe Express file.

Select Download  .

From the File format menu, select PSD (Export to Photoshop) Beta.

Adobe Express editor with the Download button selected and the file format menu set to PSD.
Select Download from the header, then choose PSD from the file format dropdown.

Select OK in the dialog box to keep editing while the file downloads.

Note
  • Any edits you make after you start the download are not included in that PSD. To capture new changes, export the file again.
  • PSD exports include only static visuals. Video, audio, and animation won't play in the exported file. To preserve these elements, download your motion designs in MP4 format instead.

Best practices

Set up your file for the best possible results in Photoshop with these tips.

Design elements

Best practices

Text

Keep editable text as separate text elements. Text that stands on its own has the best chance of arriving as an editable layer rather than flattened pixels.

Images

Use high-resolution images. The PSD preserves the resolution of your design, so low-resolution assets stay low-resolution in Photoshop.

Effects

Keep effects simple on anything you'll want to edit in Photoshop. The following effects in Adobe Express will be transformed into flattened renditions when imported into Photoshop:

  • Stickers
  • Animations
  • Videos
  • Auto-Enhance filters
  • Photoshop filters
  • Image tones
  • Bow, Arch, and Circular text layouts
  • Generated text effects
  • Brush strokes on shapes, except for dash, dotted, dash-dotted, and solid
