Apps won't launch due to subscription error

Learn how to resolve launch interruptions for your Creative Cloud apps due to the “Renew your subscription” error.

Activation issues interrupt app launch

When you try to open an Adobe Creative Cloud application, you may see a "Renew your subscription" message even though your subscription is current. To resolve this issue, sign out and sign back in to the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Select the Account icon in the upper right corner, and then select Sign out.

The Account menu button available at the top-right corner provides the option to sign out from your Creative Cloud desktop app.
Signing out from the Creative Cloud desktop app signs you out from all your apps.

Sign in to your account and open your app again.

If you still get the error, select License this software in the error message

Check that your system clock is set to the correct time:

If licensing fails, wait for a few minutes and then select Try again.
