Pay for Adobe subscriptions with Klarna FAQ

Discover how to use Klarna, a versatile payment method that allows you to split the cost of your subscription into three or four installments.

Klarna is a global payments provider that works with retailers to provide an alternate payment method to split your purchase into interest-free payments.

To use Klarna to pay for an eligible Adobe purchase, add the products to your cart and choose Klarna at checkout. Your Adobe purchase will be split by Klarna, depending on your location. Read more about how Klarna works.

To be eligible to use Klarna in the US, you need to:

  • Be a resident of the United States or its territories
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid card or bank account
  • Have a positive credit history
  • Be able to receive verification codes via text

To be eligible to use Klarna's credit products, including Pay in 3, in the UK, you need to:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a UK resident. Note that when you choose Klarna, it will also check the information you provide and your financial situation.

To be eligible to use Klarna's credit products, including Pay in 3, in Germany, you need to:

  • Be a resident of Germany
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid bank account
  • Have a good credit rating
  • Have a mobile phone number

If your purchase is eligible for Klarna payments, the option will appear at checkout. Follow these steps to use Klarna to purchase your subscription:

Sign in to the Adobe website and select an individual app you want. Then select Buy now for your app. 

In the next screen, enter your email address and select Continue. Make sure to select the Yearly, billed upfront plan so you can make the purchase using Klarna.

When prompted to select a payment method, select Klarna.

In the next screen, enter your phone number. Once you add and confirm your phone number, you receive a text message (SMS) to verify it's you.

Provide the required payment details to determine your eligibility, and if approved, review and accept the terms of your payment plan.

You'll receive a confirmation email from Adobe for your subscription and a separate confirmation email from Klarna with your agreement details, including your agreed-upon terms of use, total purchase price, and payment schedule.

Sign in to the Adobe website and select an individual app you want. Then select Free trial for your app. 

In the next screen, select Yearly, billed upfront, and then select Continue.

Enter your email address and review the details of your trial.

Select Klarna as a payment method and enter details such as zip code and phone number (optional). Then select Agree and subscribe.

In the next screen, enter your phone number. Once you add and confirm your phone number, you receive a text message (SMS) to verify it's you.

Provide the required payment details to determine your eligibility, and if approved, review and accept the terms of your payment plan.

You'll receive a confirmation email from Adobe for your trial and a separate confirmation email from Klarna with your agreement details, including your agreed-upon terms of use, total purchase price, and payment schedule.

Klarna accepts most debit and credit cards, including Visa, Discover, Maestro, American Express, and Mastercard. Prepaid cards are not accepted, and Capital One and American Express don't support Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) products.

When you sign up, Klarna may perform a soft credit check. This does not impact your credit score and won't appear as a hard inquiry on your credit report.

Yes. You can view all your Klarna purchases in one place, pay any open balances, and do more using the Klarna app. You can sign in to your Klarna account at https://app.klarna.com/login to view your order details. If you need help, connect with Klarna’s Customer Service, as applicable. 

You can cancel your subscription anytime via your Adobe Account page or by contacting Customer Support. You’ll be fully refunded if you cancel within 14 days of your initial purchase, and Klarna will update your payments accordingly. Simply follow Adobe's cancellation instructions and make sure to note the tracking number. If you cancel after 14 days, your payment is non-refundable, and your service will continue until your contract ends. 

If you want to pause your billing after you’ve canceled your subscription, sign in to your Klarna account and select Report a return. Klarna will pause your statement, and as soon as Adobe processes your cancellation, Klarna will send an adjusted invoice. This could happen due to one of the following reasons:

  • Your billing address is outside the USA, the UK, or Germany.
  • You are trying to buy an annual, paid monthly, or month-to-month subscription.
  • You are purchasing a Teams or business subscription.
