Issue

The Tomcat secure connector on 8443 is enabled by default. As a result, Tomcat treats inbound requests on this port as secure for users that do not have SSL enabled.

Solution

To disable this feature, comment out the Connector port entry for 8443 in the Tomcat server.xml configuration file. The server.xml file is located in the directory <Connect Home>\tomcat\conf. The following is the commented-out entry:

<!--
    <Connector port="8443" protocol="HTTP/1.1" SSLEnabled="true"

               maxThreads="150" scheme="https" secure="true"

               clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="TLS" />

-->
