AI Assistant in Adobe Express is a conversational tool for creating and editing designs. Describe what you want in everyday language to create on-brand designs, edit images, adjust layouts, and more. Start with a prompt, review the result, then keep refining. You stay in control and can switch to manual editing at any time.

Availability
AI Assistant availability depends on your plan, region, and language:
- Plans: Available in beta for Individual Premium and Free plans. It isn’t supported on Teams, Enterprise, or Education plans yet. Features are rolling out gradually, so what you see may vary by account.
- Devices: Available on desktop web but not on the mobile app.
- Regions: Available worldwide, except China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea, and the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
- Languages: English (worldwide), Bahasa Indonesia, Brazilian Portuguese, and Hindi.
What you can do
Create with AI Assistant
- Describe what you want in plain language, and AI Assistant creates design variations to choose from. If you're new to AI Assistant, you can start by generating a design.
- Tell AI Assistant what you're trying to do, and it suggests templates, opens the right feature, or walks you through the steps.
Edit and refine your content
- Ask for changes in plain language. Keep chatting with the AI Assistant to refine your design, restyle images, and make page-wide or targeted edits to design elements. Fine-tune the results with prompts or manual editing.
- Improve the layout, spacing, and alignment in your Adobe Express designs using AI Assistant prompts or inline suggestions. Learn how to fix the design layouts.
- Ideate, ask clarifying questions, or get unstuck faster with design feedback.
- Animate and edit single-scene videos with prompts.
Manage your workflow
- Switch between AI Assistant and manual editing. Open the AI Assistant editor from the conversational split view to edit with prompts and editing tools. Turn off the AI Assistant toggle in the header to switch to the Adobe Express manual editor.
- Reopen Chats on the homepage to access your design conversations and attachments. Chats are private and aren't shared with co-editors.

Generative AI models used
AI Assistant combines Adobe Firefly and partner models to power generative features, and automatically selects the best model for the task. You can't manually select a model. In addition to Firefly, the listed partner models are used for image generation:
- Gemini 3.1 (with Nano Banana 2) by Google
- GPT Image 2 by OpenAI
- FLUX.1 Kontext by Black Forest Labs
