Lightroom CC (v2015.1) and Camera Raw 9.1 for Photoshop CC introduce two new features:

  • Dehaze
  • Local Adjustments: Whites and Blacks sliders

Note:

These new features are not available in the perpetually licensed versions of Lightoom 6 and Photoshop CS6. New camera support and bug fixes are included for Lightroom 6 and Camera Raw 9 for Photoshop CS6.

Expected behaviors between versions

Applying Dehaze and Local Adjustments for Whites and Blacks to images in Lightroom CC and Camera Raw 9 in Photoshop CC will have the same behavior as other new imaging controls with regard to backward compatibility, specifically:

  • Older versions (Lightroom 5 and earlier; Photoshop CS5 and earlier) that don't support the control will simply ignore Dehaze Local Adjustments for Whites and Blacks settings
  • Lightroom 6.1 and Photoshop CS6 (perpetual) can render but not adjust Dehaze and Local Adjustments for Whites and Blacks settings

Process Version

Please note that Dehaze and Local Adjustments for Whites and Blacks is only supported in Process Version 2012 and later. The slider and other options are disabled when earlier Process Versions (2003/2010) have been applied to the active photo.
