Learn how to apply perceptual interpolation to create smoother, more natural color transitions in gradients.
Perceptual interpolation adjusts color transitions in gradients to match how the human eye perceives differences between colors. This creates smoother blends and makes adjacent colors appear more distinct.
Tip
Apply perceptual interpolation in charts, dashboards, infographics, or UI elements where evenly spaced, distinct colors improve readability.
Open the Gradient panel.
In Method, choose Perceptual.
Adjust the gradient stops, colors, opacity, or location as desired to refine the gradient appearance.
Note
- Perceptual gradients are not supported in PDF or SVG exports. When saved in these formats, gradients will be rasterised.
- Perceptual rendering isn’t preserved when gradients are saved to CC Libraries.
- Expanding perceptual gradients into mesh objects isn’t supported.
