Error 713 causes installation failure

Last updated on Dec 22, 2025

Learn how to resolve error code 713 "UAC permissions required"  during Adobe app installation on Windows.

Error 713 occurs when Windows User Account Control (UAC) doesn't grant the required permissions to install Adobe Creative Cloud apps. This usually happens when UAC is disabled or set to a very low notification level.

To resolve the error, try these solutions in the given order.

UAC settings are too low or disabled

When UAC is disabled or set to Never notify, Windows doesn’t prompt for administrator permission during app installation, which can cause the installation to fail.

Make sure you're signed in with an administrator account.

In the Windows search bar, type UAC, then select Change User Account Control settings.

Move the slider up from Never notify to one of the following options:

  • Always notify me when: Prompts for permission for all system changes.
  • Notify me only when apps try to make changes to my computer (default): Prompts when apps requests changes.
  • Notify me only when apps try to make changes to my computer (do not dim my desktop): Similar to the previous setting, but without dimming the screen.

Select OK.

If prompted, confirm your selection or enter an administrator password.

Restart your computer.

After restarting, try installing the app again.

UAC is disabled at the system level

If you can't change UAC settings using the Windows interface, UAC may be disabled at the system level. You can re-enable it using the Windows Registry, following these steps:

Press Windows R, type regedit.exe, and press Enter.

Navigate to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System.

Double-click EnableLUA.

Set Value data to 1, then choose OK.

Close the Registry Editor, and restart your computer.

Try installing the app again.
