Error 3 causes installation failure

Last updated on Dec 9, 2025

Learn how to fix error code 3 " Verification of Adobe Genuine Service in AdobeGenuineClient package failed" during app installation.

Error code 3 occurs when the AGSService file inside the AdobeGenuineClient folder fails the verification check. During installation, Adobe verifies the file’s digital signature to ensure the Adobe Genuine Service components are valid and haven’t been altered. If this signature check fails, the installation cannot continue.

You can find the AdobeGenuineClient folder at these locations:

  • Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common\AdobeGenuineClient
  • macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Desktop Common/AdobeGenuineClient
