Learn how to resolve error code 179 "The installation path seems invalid" during Adobe app installation.

Error code 179 appears when the installer can’t use the selected installation path because it may contain restricted folders or insufficient permissions that block installation.

Tip

When choosing an install location, select a path that:

  • is on your local hard drive (not a network or external drive)
  • contains no special characters or symbols
  • allows full administrator access
  • has enough free space

The common valid paths include C:\Program Files\Adobe on Windows and the /Applications directory on macOS.

Select Done to save your changes.

Return to the Creative Cloud app and install the app again.

Your app should now install successfully using the updated location. If the issue persists, review your installation logs to identify the specific fatal error causing the failure.
