Error 22 causes installation failure

Learn how to resolve error code 22 "Case-sensitive drives not supported" that occurs during Adobe app installation on macOS.

Error 22 occurs when you try to install a Creative Cloud app on a drive formatted with a case-sensitive file system, which isn't supported. 

Your drive is formatted as case-sensitive

Creative Cloud apps cannot be installed on a case-sensitive file system. To resolve the issue, install the app onto a non–case-sensitive drive. Learn more about case-sensitive issues on macOS.

Note

If you're an Enterprise or Teams admin :

  • Make sure the deployment package uses the correct architecture for the machine you're installing on.
  • Ensure the device meets the system requirements for the Creative Cloud apps you're installing.
