Learn how to resolve error code 1004 "Creative Cloud app update failed" during an app update.

Error code 1004 occurs when the Creative Cloud desktop app can't update because the signed-in account lacks administrator privileges.

You're not signed in with an administrator account

Updating the Creative Cloud desktop app requires administrator permissions. If the signed-in user doesn't have admin access, the update process fails.

Select Retry on the error dialog box to update the Creative Cloud desktop app again.

If prompted, enter your system admin password.

If the issue persists, verify that your user account has administrator access by following the steps for your operating system.
