Error 25 causes installation failure

Last updated on Dec 11, 2025

Learn how to resolve error code 25 "There was a problem installing your app" when trying to install or update an Adobe application on an ARM-based computer.

Error 25 occurs when you attempt to install an Intel-based app on a device that uses ARM architecture (such as Apple silicon M-series macOS or ARM-based Windows devices). To fix this issue, download the app version compatible with your device's processor.

Before you begin

Ensure you download the correct installer for your device.

  • Intel versions are designed for traditional x86 processors.
  • ARM versions are optimized for newer ARM-based processors, including:
    • Apple silicon macOS (M1, M2, M3 series)
    • Windows devices with ARM processors (for example, Snapdragon X Elite)

The installer isn’t compatible with ARM processors

Sign in to Adobe Home.

Select Download or Install for your app. Adobe detects your system and automatically provides the correct ARM or Intel version.

Verify the installer type (optional):

  • On macOS, ARM installers show Apple silicon in the app requirements.
  • On Windows, the download page displays ARM or Intel under system requirements.

Double-click the downloaded file to launch the installer.

Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

The Creative Cloud desktop installs automatically and manages your app installations. You can also download the Creative Cloud desktop app manually.

Note

If you can’t access Adobe Home or aren’t sure which installer your IT administrator provided, check with them to confirm that you have the correct ARM-compatible installation package.
