Error 240 causes installation and update failure

Learn how to resolve error code 240 "App installation or update failed" during Adobe app installation and update.

Error code 240 indicates that the installer package you're trying to use is no longer valid because the build has been revoked. This issue often resolves automatically within 24 hours. However, you can try updating your app manually to fix the issue sooner.

The installer package is no longer valid

Follow the steps to manually check for updates:

In the Apps tab, select More actions  in the Installed apps panel, and then choose Check for updates.

The More actions icon under Installed apps in the Apps tab shows options to enable or manage auto updates and check for updates.
The Creative Cloud desktop app checks for the latest available updates for all installed apps.

Select View Updates to open the Updates window and review all the apps that can be updated.

Install or update an available version of the required app.

Note

If you have auto-updates enabled, your apps will update automatically.
