Errors 48 and 49 occur when the installer is unable to read, write, or create a critical file or folder. These errors may occur due to locked files, background processes, temporary system issues, or insufficient permissions.
The installer can’t access a required file or directory
Before you begin, ensure that all Adobe apps are closed and no Adobe background processes are running.
To resolve the error, follow the steps based on how you're installing the app.
If you're downloading the installer from Adobe Home
If you're installing your app using the installer downloaded from Adobe Home, follow these steps:
Relaunch the installer and try the installation again.
If the error persists, restart your computer to release any locked files or processes that may be blocking the installation.
Run the installer again.
If you're installing through the Creative Cloud desktop app
If you're installing your app through the Creative Cloud desktop app, follow these steps:
Quit the Creative Cloud desktop app in one of the following ways, depending on your operating system:
- Windows: Select the hamburger menu in the upper-left and then select File > Quit Creative Cloud, or press Ctrl + W. If a confirmation dialog appears, select Quit.
- macOS: Select Creative Cloud > Quit Creative Cloud, or press command + Q.
Relaunch the Creative Cloud desktop app.
Select Retry to recreate the file or directory.
