Adobe is working on moving most of its Creative Cloud and Acrobat apps to 64-bit to ensure compatibility with macOS 10.15 and future versions as Apple ends its 32-bit support.

When launching Adobe apps on macOS 10.15 and future versions, you may receive an error message when the operating system detects the app or components of the apps are running 32-bit. Most of our apps have been or are in the process of being upgraded to 64-bit.

Two Adobe apps, Fuse and Presenter Video Express, will continue as 32-bit. Our recommendations on replacement apps are given below.

Common questions

In June 2017, Apple announced that future versions of macOS (beginning with macOS 10.15) will no longer support 32-bit apps or libraries. To ensure Adobe apps are compatible, Adobe has updated most of its apps to 64-bit, but some of our older versions are either 32-bit, or still have some 32-bit libraries.

The Creative Cloud desktop app will notify you of the update’s availability and provide instructions on how to complete the update.

Acrobat products fetch updates automatically (by default). You can also manually update Acrobat by following these instructions.

Our product teams are working diligently and quickly to move all applicable apps to 64-bit. We appreciate your patience as we finalize this effort. The Creative Cloud desktop app will notify you of the update’s availability and provide instructions on how to complete the update.

Unfortunately, there are a few apps that are not planned to be moved to 64-bit. These apps will continue to work in macOS 10.14 and before. We have provided a recommended product with similar functionality in the list above.
