Adobe Stock panel in After Effects

Last updated on Oct 7, 2026

Learn how to search, preview, and download Adobe Stock assets directly from the Adobe Stock panel in Adobe After Effects (beta).

  Use new beta features

The Adobe Stock panel is now available for testing and feedback. Try it now in After Effects (beta).

About the Adobe Stock panel

The Adobe Stock panel brings Adobe Stock search directly into After Effects (beta). Before this panel, finding Stock content meant searching through the Libraries panel or downloading assets from your browser by hand.

With the panel open, you can search the full Adobe Stock library, preview images, videos, audio, and templates, and bring them into your project without leaving the app.

The Adobe Stock panel is docked in After Effects, showing search results with images, videos, and templates.

Search and preview Adobe Stock assets

Select Window > Adobe Stock to open the panel.

Type a keyword in the search field.

Select a thumbnail to preview the asset.

Select a thumbnail to preview an asset before adding it to your project.

Download an asset to your project

Select the asset you want to use. Images, videos, and audio files download directly to your Project panel. Templates (.mogrt and .aet files) save to a folder on your device instead, and you can choose where that folder lives.

A downloaded Adobe Stock image appears as a new item in the Project panel in After Effects.
Downloaded images, videos, and audio files land directly in the Project panel.

Note

Choose where downloaded assets are saved

By default, downloaded assets are saved to the same location After Effects uses for temporary files when rendering previews. To keep them separate, you can save your downloads somewhere else instead, such as a dedicated project folder or a drive with more space.

Select File > Project Settings.

Select the Scratch Disks tab.

Set a location for stock downloads.

The Scratch Disks tab in Project Settings shows a folder path set for stock downloads.
Set your stock download preferences in Project Settings > Scratch Disks.
