Last updated on Oct 22, 2026

AI Assistant is a beta feature in Adobe Express now available for testing and feedback.

Learn how to generate designs with AI Assistant in Adobe Express, then refine them with prompts or manual edits.

Use AI Assistant to generate a design, then refine it your way. Keep your layout and typography, make page-wide edits or change only the elements you choose, or switch to manual editing at any time without losing your work. AI Assistant isn’t available on Teams, Enterprise, or Education plans yet. New features are rolling out gradually, so your experience may vary by account.

Generate designs with AI Assistant in a few simple steps.

On the Adobe Express homepage, type a prompt describing the design you want to create and press Enter.

Enter a prompt in plain language. For example, “Create a yoga flyer.”

Provide the requested details, such as the event name, date, and location, or start with placeholders.

AI Assistant generates four design variations. Select one to preview it in the conversation split view, then select it to continue.

Refine the design in the split screen by chatting with the AI Assistant to update text, replace images, rearrange layers, and more, or by editing it yourself, such as selecting text to change it or dragging an element to move it.

Tip
Select the plus   icon on the prompt bar to upload a photo to use in your design or as a reference.

If there are edits you are unable to perform in the split screen, select Open in editor to work in the AI Assistant editor, or select Download to save the file on your device.
