Organize your Firefly generations

Last updated on Oct 31, 2025

Learn how to add generation copies from the Generation history tab into Projects or Your files for easy asset management.

Firefly generations can now be stored alongside assets from other Adobe apps, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. This allows you to organize, share, and collaborate on your generative content across existing projects and personal files.

When you add generations to Projects or Your files, a copy is created. This lets you organize generations based on specific projects, while keeping your full generation history intact, so you can always trace your creative process.

Add generations to Projects or Your files

Go to Your stuff > Generation history.

Select one or more generations you want to organize.

Select Add to... from the toolbar that appears at the bottom of the screen.

The Generation history tab in Firefly displays multiple selected assets and a toolbar menu.
Select multiple assets and add them to the same space.

Choose a destination from the location picker—either a folder in Your files for personal storage or a Project for team collaboration.

Select the location and then select Add to copy your generations to the new space.

If you want to remove generations from the Generation history tab after organizing them elsewhere, you can manually delete the originals. This only affects Generation history—the copies you added to other spaces will remain unaffected. Discover how to organize content through projects.
