You can transform your creative ideas into videos using partner models to generate models in the Firefly video editor. With the Runway Gen-4.5 model, you can convert text descriptions into high-quality video clips that can be added directly to your timeline.
Open a project or create a new one to access a timeline.
Select the Generation settings icon from the right panel next to the video preview.
Enter a descriptive text prompt in the prompt box explaining what you want to generate.
Select the Model dropdown menu under General settings, then select Runway Gen-4.5.
Select the desired Duration for the generated video from 5 seconds, 8 seconds, and 10 seconds.
You cannot change the Resolution and Aspect ratio of the video generated with Runway Gen-4.5, which are set at a default of 720p and Widescreen (16:9), respectively.
Select Generate to generate the video.
Drag the generated video from the Generation history panel onto your video timeline.
Your generated video is now part of your project and can be edited, trimmed, or combined with other media clips in the timeline.
